Take a moment to think about why you want to be healthy. Is it to have more energy to keep up with your kids or grandkids? Is it to feel confident in your own skin? Is it to be able to do the things you love without getting winded? Whatever your reason may be, remember that being healthy isn't just about looking good, it's about feeling good too. You deserve to live your best life and being healthy is the first step towards that goal. Once you have 3 important reasons, keep reminding yourself of those reasons on your journey to become healthy.

Exercise

The following exercise will help you define your personal reasons for being healthy:

  1. Start by taking a few moments to reflect on why you want to be healthy.
  2. Get a notebook or a piece of paper and write down your reasons for wanting to be healthy. Don't edit or judge yourself, just write down anything that comes to mind.
    • Think about how you want to feel or what you want to do
    • Think about today but also in the future
    • Think about what you want, rather than what you want to avoid
  3. Once you have a list, go through each item and ask yourself the following questions:
    • How important is this reason to me?
    • Will this reason give me the motivation I need to maintain healthy habits?
    • Will this reason bring me closer to my overall goal of being healthy?
  4. Circle the 3 reasons that are the most important to you and those that you feel would give you the most motivation to maintain healthy habits.
  5. Now that you have a clear understanding of what drives you, use this as your foundation for creating healthy habits. Memorize it so that you get reminded of it when you scan your product. You can also keep this list somewhere visible, like on your fridge or mirror.

    Example

It's always interesting to see an example from someone who did the exercise already. Therefor I have listed my own 3 reasons for being healthy:

    1. I was so tired every weekend that my personal relationships suffered from it. I wanted to feel energetic again and have more quality time with the family
    2. I was determined to live a long healthy life to see my kids grow up and be there for them as long as possible.
    3. My grandfather died young because of colon cancer and I didn’t want that to happen to me. I didn’t want to have cancer or any other disease.

Reminding myself every day of these strong reasons gave me the motivation to start exercising, eating healthy and implement many new healthy habits.

    • Better sleep: Good health habits can lead to improved sleep quality and quantity, helping you to feel more refreshed and energized during the day.
    • Improved immune system: A healthy lifestyle can help improve your immune system, making it easier for your body to fight off infections and illnesses.
    • Increased energy levels: Good health can increase your energy levels, allowing you to enjoy your daily activities and hobbies.
    • Better physical appearance: A healthy lifestyle can improve your physical appearance, giving you a more toned and fit physique.
