I'm A Coach, so I Focus on Goals
If you're someone who loves helping others achieve their goals and reach their full potential, becoming a coach can be very rewarding. As a coach, you can guide and support individuals in overcoming challenges, achieving their desired outcomes, and making positive changes in their lives.
Habit
Focusing on goals is a habit that involves setting clear and measurable objectives, breaking them down into manageable steps, and taking consistent action towards achieving them. It's a valuable habit for coaches as it can help them motivate and guide people towards their desired outcomes.
Goals
I will set myself a goal to talk with people about their goals each day. In that conversation I will do my best to:
- Help people define a specific goal in line with their values and priorities
- Help people break each goal down into smaller and manageable steps
- Keep people accountable to take daily action towards achieving their goals.
Implementation
Define your goals: Identify specific and measurable objectives that are aligned with your values and priorities.
- What are your short-term and long-term goals?
- What goal would make the biggest difference to your life?
- What would be your ultimate goal?
- How can you make your goal more Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, or time-bound?
Break them down: Break each goal down into smaller and manageable steps.
- What are the steps needed to achieve you goal?
- What actions can you take each day to move closer to your goal?
- What skills do you need to develop or improve to achieve your goal?
- How can you measure your progress towards my goal?
Take daily action: Take consistent action towards achieving your goals, and track your progress regularly.
- What are the potential obstacles I may face, and how can I overcome them?
- What resources do I need to achieve my goal, and how can I acquire them?
- How will achieving my goal improve my life or the lives of others?
- What adjustments do I need to make to my plan to ensure I stay on track towards my goal?
By asking yourself these questions, you can develop a clearer understanding of your goal, identify the necessary steps to achieve it, and maintain focus and motivation towards achieving it.
