Believe In Yourself
No matter who you are you’re probably living at about 40% of your true capability, but you have the potential to be so much more. Your brain is wired to seek out comfort, certainty, and make choices based on what you believe is true. If you then believe something is not going to work out, you sabotage your potential and take only little action. This belief was created unconsciously based on the experiences you had in the past and the little action only generates little results. Luckily your past is a bad predictor for your future so It’s time to turn things around and unlock your true potential.
Conquer your limiting beliefs
Take a moment to consciously think about the things you tell to yourself and write them down on a piece of paper. For each of those things challenge yourself why this belief would be true and what could have caused it in the first place. Then think what would be needed to make it false. Based on your analysis reframe the initial belief into a new positive belief. Each time the limiting belief comes to mind, respond with your new reframed positive belief. Master your self-talk!
Face your fears
Fear exists to protect you from life threatening situations in life. If you have fear without being in a life threatening situation it’s just false alarm. Realize that your fear just means you’re excited to learn something new. Convert your fear into energy to master the situation and make it happen.
Change your focus
What you focus on is what you get. If you focus on negative things, what you will get is a lot of negative thoughts. If you focus on positive things, you’ll think more positive. By focusing your mind on the right things, it will adapt to this. Start focusing on the good things about yourself.
You can learn anything
Your brain is like a computer that can be programmed in the way you want. No matter your age, your brain keeps learning and adapting to the input it receives. Stop believing the fact that you were born with a certain amount of skills, because with sufficient training you can master any skill in life.
Start small
Learning something new is like planting a seed that eventually will grow into a large tree. Divide your goals into small pieces and work towards each piece step by step. Start enjoying the road towards your destination instead of feeling bad that you haven’t arrived yet. Success takes time.
Celebrate your wins
Think about what you have already accomplished in the past, no matter how small it was. Visualize your win and use it as energy to believe in yourself to face new challenges. You can do it again!
Learn from your failures
It’s normal to make mistakes and people may blame you for making them. No matter what, use the feedback you receive and learn from your failure to make your future better. Success isn’t possible without failure so don’t be afraid of making mistakes in the first place. They are your path to success.
You are not alone
Some goals may seem difficult to achieve alone. You can also not master all skills! Don’t be afraid to ask help from your family, people on the internet, a coach,… With the internet today and platforms available it’s sometimes more easier to reach out to people that do have some of the skills you need.
