My Journey to Great Reminders

Hi,

My name is Dieter, and ever since I was a little boy, I’ve always had a drive to be more than just average—I wanted to be the best. Growing up, I played soccer at a high level and did well in school, driven by a desire to continuously improve. As I transitioned into my career, that same drive pushed me to take endless courses in my free time, waking up early to study, always hungry for more knowledge. I believed that continuous growth and learning were the keys to success, and I loved every moment of discovering new skills and information.

However, in my pursuit of excellence, I became more focused on quantity than quality. I raced from one course to the next, feeling like I was constantly missing out on the newest information in an age where knowledge was abundant online. Despite all the learning, I was frustrated by how little of it actually stuck with me. I felt like I was drowning in information, yet starving for wisdom.

Then, everything changed when I was promoted at work. It was a dream come true, but it also brought an overwhelming amount of pressure and anxiety. Determined to prove myself worthy, I pushed myself to the limit, which only led to unnecessary stress and exhaustion. The turning point came when a phishing email nearly cost the company a significant sum of money. The stress and fear of failure were overwhelming, and I realized something had to change. I decided to take a week off—little did I know, it would be the most transformative week of my life.

“High performers are successful without neglecting health and relationships.”
— Brendon Burchard

During that week, I immersed myself in books on personal development, particularly those focusing on mental health, happiness, and high performance. One quote by Brendon Burchard stood out to me and ignited a shift within. I bought his book "High Performance Habits" and dedicated myself to integrating those habits into my daily life.

This was the beginning of a new chapter, one where I prioritized my personal growth alongside my professional ambitions. As I implemented these habits, I felt my confidence grow, my resilience strengthen, and a newfound sense of control over my life and mindset. For the first time, the pieces of my life puzzle fell into place, allowing me to truly live my best life.

This journey taught me a valuable lesson: in a world overflowing with information, success doesn’t come from knowing everything—it comes from mastering a few key principles and reminding yourself of them daily. It’s not just about knowledge; it’s about creating an environment filled with trigger points that support your mindset and growth. This realization was the spark that led to the creation of Great Reminders.

At Great Reminders, our aspiration is to be the go-to hub for personal and professional development for young ambitious professionals.

This is the heart of Great Reminders, and this is my story.
