Goals
I will practice the habit of making the best of any situation by spending 5-10 minutes each day reframing situations that happened during the day (or in the past) that makes me feel bad. This can be an injury that happened to me, a mistake I made, a frustration, or fear. As I gain experience, I will make the best of any situation as they occur.
Implementation
Become aware of situations during the day (or in the past) that give you a bad feeling. Describe what happened in an objective way. Examples: an injury, mistake, failure, rejection,….
Once you become aware, follow these 3 simple steps:
- Accept it: Accept that the situation happened and be responsible for how you feel about it. No denial, no panic, no excuses,…
- Embrace it: Reframe the situation as a life challenge, or an opportunity to grow and learn. Commit yourself to make the best of the situation.
- Address it: Do the best you can through maximal effort and judgement to address the situation.
Key questions to address the situation
- What can I learn from the situation and take-away for the future?
